Job Summary:

The Travel Histotech will perform routine medical laboratory tests to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role involves traveling to different locations as needed and ensuring high-quality laboratory testing and reporting in compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean medical laboratory equipment.

• Perform routine and specialized tests following standardized procedures.

• Analyze and verify test results to ensure conformity to specifications.

• Record, analyze, and report test data using charts, graphs, and narratives.

• Obtain and prepare specimens, including cultivating, isolating, and identifying microorganisms for analysis.

• Examine stained cells to detect abnormalities and consult with pathologists for final diagnosis when necessary.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure laboratory safety and quality standards are met.

• Solid understanding of diagnostic and laboratory testing procedures.

• Proficiency in data analysis and accurate record keeping.

  Education & Experience:

• Required: AS/BS in science

• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or completion of a relevant vocational training program.

• Prior histology or laboratory experience is highly desirable.
