Job Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving engineering products, equipment, and systems in accordance with customer requirements, industry standards, and company quality procedures. The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings, calculations, technical documentation, and coordinating with production, procurement, quality, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
• Develop 2D and 3D models using CAD software.
• Perform engineering calculations related to design, strength, material selection, and process requirements.
• Review customer specifications, tender documents, and project requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and material requisitions.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with project, production, procurement, and QA/QC teams for smooth project execution.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, fabrication, inspection, and installation stages.
• Attend customer meetings and technical discussions whenever required.
• Resolve design-related issues and implement necessary modifications.

Documentation & Quality

• Maintain design records, revision control, and technical documentation.
• Prepare technical datasheets, design reports, calculation sheets, and design validation documents.
• Ensure all drawings and documents are released as per company document control procedures.
• Support quality audits and design reviews.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency through innovative design solutions.
• Stay updated with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• Additional certification in CAD software will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 2–8 years of experience in engineering design, fabrication, process equipment, pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, or related industries.
• Experience in process equipment manufacturing will be preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, CATIA, or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and GD&T.
• Understanding of ASME, API, IS, ASTM, TEMA, or relevant design codes.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, machining, and manufacturing practices.
• Ability to prepare BOM, MTO, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is desirable.

Working Conditions
