Title: Cost Analyst V
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Remote
Role Mandate:
We are seeking individuals that are experienced cost analysts. The ideal candidates have experience building should cost models, understand PCB manufacturing processes, can perform detailed cost analysis, have experience building Total Cost of Ownership models, etc. This individual will be focused on building cost intelligence tools (cost models, TCO, benchmarking) and performing cost analysis / assessments to enable sourcing managers to have strategic negotiations and to help inform design-realated decisions. Most of this role will support hardware programs so experience with EE/ME/Power/Cables/MVA would be ideal.

This includes (but is not limited to) should cost models, TCO models, cost benchmarking, and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will work with the team and engineers to identify opportunities to reduce cost via design optimization or other strategies.
Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
• Build Should Cost Models for any of the following products/components/services (EE-ME-Power-cables-MVA).
• Develop work class cost intelligence models, tools, and best practices to support Client's infrastructure Hardware supply chain.
• Identify actionable insights and provide summary of trends and observations through cost data interpretation and research.
• Work with Sourcing Managers and suppliers to pull together datasets to facilitate cost analysis.
• Build benchmarking data related to cost – historic, competitive and market – and understand supplier costs, impact of design changes and cost/value drivers for the equipment and services involved.
• Leverage cost management techniques – target costing, equipment lifecycle TCO, benchmarking, should-cost, supplier cost breakdown, cost driver analysis, competitive bidding and NPV analysis – to support Sourcing Managers to help validate cost savings as well as realize cost savings.
• Conduct cost related design workshop and partner closely with engineering to influence product cost in the early new product introduction phases.
• Identify, document and initiate resolutions to cost data quality issues that are discovered during report and analysis development.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly business performance updates and other related analyses, including managing and providing status reports to stakeholders.

• Effectively manage projects to deliver tangible and measurable results.
Performance Measurement:
Performance will be measured based on cost analysis, cost models, completion of deliverables on time, quality of deliverables, quantity completed, and XFN feedback.
Must-Have Skills:
• 10 years of experience.
• Experience building should cost models for various products / components / services.
• Ability to perform detailed cost analysis and identify key insights and opportunities.
• Ability to build benchmarking data related to cost – historic, competitive and market and understand supplier costs, value drivers, etc..
• Expert ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data.
• Expert ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
• Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
• Expert knowledge of cost management.
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience building dashboards and / or Excel models to support tooling needs.
• Ability to partner with engineers and build trust to optimize designs for cost.
Soft Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Negotiation skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in finance or a related business field required.
