Phlebotomist II
Waco, TX 76712
Contract: 3 Months (Potential to Extend/Convert)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Setting: Onsite – Doctor’s Office (IOP)
Position Overview
LabCorp is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to support a physician office location in Waco, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy experience, excellent customer service skills, and be comfortable working with pediatric patients and difficult draws.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using straight and butterfly needles
Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens appropriately
Verify patient information and insurance details
Enter patient and specimen information into the system accurately
Collect payments when required
Maintain specimen integrity and proper storage procedures
Follow OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations
Provide professional and courteous patient interactions
Assist with troubleshooting and workflow recommendations
Handle phone calls and basic patient/lab inquiries
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
At least 6 months of recent venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab, clinic, or hospital setting
Comfortable performing approximately 30 draws per day
Experience with hard sticks
Strong customer service and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications
Pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred
Flexible and team-oriented mindset
Work Environment
Medium-sized physician office setting
Team-based environment
Standing required for most of the shift
Training includes orientation and field training during the first 2 weeks
Required Vaccinations/Screening
Candidates must be able to provide:
TB, MMR, T-DAP, Flu, Varicella
Hepatitis B (may decline)
Color vision testing required.
