We are looking for three senior software engineers to support and maintain the Facebook Live creation experience. This role is focused on production support and oncall coverage for Live creation surfaces, along with the bug fixes, stability work, and small feature changes that come out of it. You will work across web and backend systems in a large, mature codebase, and you will be expected to operate independently with limited day to day direction. This is a hands on role for someone who is comfortable owning production issues end to end: triaging an alert, tracing the problem across services, shipping the fix, and closing the loop.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the Live creation oncall rotation, including triage, investigation, mitigation, and root cause analysis of production issues
Debug and resolve issues spanning web frontend and backend services in the Live creation stack
Ship bug fixes, reliability improvements, and small to medium feature work
Improve oncall health by reducing noisy alerts, updating runbooks, and adding monitoring, logging, and dashboards
Write and maintain tests covering critical Live creation flows
Document findings and fixes so knowledge stays with the team
Must-Have Skills
Senior full stack web and backend development, 5+ years, with strong JavaScript or TypeScript and React on the frontend and server-side services and APIs on the backend
Production support and oncall experience in a high-traffic consumer product, covering triage, debugging, mitigation, and root cause analysis of live issues
Proven ability to work independently in a large, unfamiliar codebase with minimal direction, including knowing when to escalate
Nice-to-have Skills
Experience with live video, streaming, or real-time media systems
Experience with GraphQL
Background in reliability, observability, of SEV response
Years of Experience: 10+
Degrees/Certifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree is not a hard filter if the candidate has the hands-on background.
