Position Overview Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with UI/UX designers to build tooling that enables Android prototyping and development.
Support cross-functional collaboration between design and engineering teams.
Translate technical concepts and challenges into language understandable by designers, product managers, and other non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to scalable UI patterns and design system initiatives.
Required Skills (Top Must-Haves)
Strong Android Development Experience
Expert-level Android SDK knowledge.
Experience building Android UI solutions.
UI Framework Expertise
Must have experience with both:
Jetpack Compose
Traditional XML-based Android Views
Design Systems Experience
Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or enabling design systems.
Experience creating tooling/platforms that support designers and engineers.
Familiarity alone is not sufficient.
Additional Screening Considerations
Candidates should not be primarily React Native developers.
Must demonstrate practical implementation of Android UI patterns and scalable component systems.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Android animation expertise and best practices.
Strong UX/design mindset.
Familiarity with AI tools and agentic workflows.
Experience working in highly collaborative design-engineering environments.
Ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Senior/Lead-level Android engineer.
Target experience range:
7-10+ years preferred.
Lead-level capabilities desired.
Candidates from large technology companies (FAANG and similar) are strong targets.
Interactive agency backgrounds are also viewed positively due to stronger design collaboration experience.

Evangelize workflow and systems automation in all aspects of daily life at Client
Automate and streamline our onboarding process so that new hires can hit the ground running
Build tools to make the workplace better: wayfinders to help people get around and digital signage to give people access to their metrics
Drive decision making around build vs buy. Work with our vendors to get the most out of systems integrations
Constantly critique and re-evaluate the effectiveness of our tools and get our different systems working together, e.g. Workday to LDAP or Pagerduty to Jira
What we're looking for:
Strong Python software development skills - Experience integrating open source software, enterprise software, and custom code Experience with protocols such as SAML and LDAP are a big plus
