Job Title: Diagnostic Software Engineer III Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite) Duration: 6+ Months
Position Summary: Responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex Linux, software, hardware, and network issues in production environments. Works closely with engineering and operations teams to identify root causes, implement solutions, improve system reliability, and support infrastructure operations.
Experience Required: 3+ Years
Candidate will need to go through CJIS clearance
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot Linux systems, applications, networking, and server hardware issues.
Analyze system and application logs to identify and resolve root causes.
Support production environments and infrastructure reliability initiatives.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
Create simple automation scripts using Python or Bash.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Linux administration experience (RHEL and/or Ubuntu preferred).
1+ year of server hardware troubleshooting experience.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model.
Experience analyzing system and application logs.
Proficiency with Python or Bash scripting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
CJIS Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
Knowledge of Docker, Podman, and container networking.
Experience with AWS, Grafana, ServiceNow, or related technologies.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLite, or MongoDB.
Cybersecurity or EDR tool experience.
RHCE Certification preferred.

Diagnosis and resolution of issues in MDR appliances.
Communication and ticketing of issues to related work groups.
Identification of common recurring issues and communication with development team.
Must-Have Qualifications: Experience with RHEL or similar Linux OS, Podman or related containerization technologies, OSI model and transport troubleshooting.
Team Structure & Reporting: Provide Operations support to fleet of distributed infrastructure for cybersecurity monitoring.
