Title: Onsite Medical Representative (OMR)
Location: Avenel, NJ 07001
Shift: BHN | 6:00 PM – 4:30 AM | Wednesday – Saturday
Training: 1–2 weeks
Duration: 6 months
Overtime: 10 hours
The Client Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of its people. WHS sets the strategic direction to provide resources, best practices, and safe environments to proactively manage the health and well-being of the workforce.
To support these goals, the Client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join the team. In this position, the OMR will work closely with the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and occasionally the Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS).
The OMR will participate in weekly associate safety committee meetings, greet new hires, and engage in daily one-on-one interactions with associates. The OMR may also participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed.
As an OMR, you will independently assess and administer first aid and provide guidance to associates regarding occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses. You will also promote health and wellness principles, refer associates to outside medical providers when necessary, and develop knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace risk, and safety analysis.
The OMR will function as part of the larger onsite team, supporting first aid needs and assisting with safety operations as required.
Provide first aid support and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary.
Minimize associate risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
Maintain accurate records of care provided to associates.
Coordinate and maintain workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries.
Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
Engage with associates and leadership on the operations floor and provide coaching regarding observed at-risk work habits.
Maintain a clean working environment and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is available and maintained.
Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate First Aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
Maintain all required First Aid, CPR, and AED credentials.
Work flexible shifts, which may include days, nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
Assist with random saliva drug-testing protocols.
Maintain effective care delivery during emergencies and assist with emergency response activities at the site.
Ability to lift up to 49 pounds.
Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
Ability to work in environments where noise levels may vary.
Ability to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions, including outside loading areas.
Ability to continuously climb and descend stairs at sites where stairs are present.
Candidates who do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) must obtain the required certification within 3 weeks of the start date.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) provider.
Must possess one of the following:
Current, valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic (NRP) certification from the Department of Health or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT); OR
Current active Athletic Trainer Certification through the Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent state certification.
Certified to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED training through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience working with an industrial wellness program.
Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and body mechanics coaching.
Demonstrated experience with OSHA regulations and Workers’ Compensation.
Proficiency with digital recordkeeping.
Within the last year, at least six months of military experience as a:
Combat Medic – U.S. Army
Field Medic – U.S. Army
Healthcare Specialist – U.S. Army
Hospital Corpsman – U.S. Navy
Aerospace Medical Service Technician – U.S. Air Force
