Job Title: Engineering Contractor / Junior Construction Project Manager Location: Phoenix, AZ Work Environment: Onsite Duration: Project-based contract Target Start:ASAP upon final client approval
What We Are Looking For Junior-level engineering students, recent graduates, or early-career candidates who are hungry to learn, personable, dependable, comfortable onsite, and excited about getting hands-on exposure to a major data center/construction environment.
This is not a senior PM search despite the formal Junior Construction Project Manager title. Company specifically allows candidates pursuing or recently completing degrees in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, Business, or related fields, with internship/co-op/academic/entry-level experience preferred.
Personality is extremely important. eager, curious, communicative, coachable, proactive, comfortable talking with field teams, and genuinely interested in learning the construction/data center side of the business.
What They Will Be Doing The contractors will support the onsite construction team and act as additional eyes and ears in the field. Responsibilities will include observing daily construction activity, documenting progress, reviewing project drawings, tracking productivity, identifying discrepancies, and turning field information into organized reporting for leadership. The role expands into broader project coordination, including:
Tracking construction progress against schedules and milestones
Supporting project planning, budgets and schedules
Coordinating with engineers, contractors, vendors and project stakeholders
Material management and delivery scheduling
Monitoring performance indicators and preparing reports for management
Helping identify issues, changes or delays
Supporting documentation and general project coordination

Current students and recent graduates are absolutely in scope. Internship, co-op, academic project, construction, operations, or other project-based experience is valuable but we do not need someone with years of professional experience.
Candidates should be comfortable interpreting technical information and drawings, documenting what they see onsite, communicating with different teams, and learning new construction/project-management systems. Microsoft Office proficiency, strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Candidates do need to be comfortable working onsite in an active construction environment. The role can involve walking uneven construction terrain, PPE, outdoor weather, noise/dust, and occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
