You'll own the school relationship end to end — from first cold walk-in to a signed pilot to a paying, renewing account. This is a hunting + closing role for someone who's energized by being on the ground, talking to principals and transport heads, and turning "we've never done this" into "how soon can we start?"
What you'll do
- Prospect & open doors: build and work a pipeline of schools (private K-12, chains, PU colleges) — cold visits, calls, referrals, principal/trustee networks, education events.
- Run demos that land: show the parent, driver, and admin apps live; tie features to a school's real pain (parent anxiety, safety, transport ops, complaints).
- Drive pilots to paid: set up a pilot on 1–2 routes, hand-hold the admin through onboarding, prove value, and convert to a full-school rollout.
- Own the close: handle pricing, objections, and procurement; navigate the multi-stakeholder sale (principal, transport in-charge, management/trustees).
- Be the voice of the school: feed real objections, feature gaps, and pricing signals back to the founding team — you'll directly shape the roadmap.
- Hit and report numbers: own targets for schools signed, buses/students activated, and revenue; keep the CRM clean.
What you'll need
- 2–7 years of field/B2B sales, ideally selling into schools, EdTech, or SMB SaaS (or FMCG/insurance field sales with a hunger to move into tech).
- A track record of owning a number and beating it — not just support/account-management.
- Comfort with a consultative, multi-stakeholder sale and long-ish cycles.
- Genuinely comfortable demoing a mobile app and explaining tech simply to non-technical buyers.
- Local school network / knowledge of the education ecosystem in your city is a big plus.
- Fluent in English + the local language(s) (e.g., Kannada/Hindi); own a two-wheeler/car and willing to be in the field daily.
- Self-starter who thrives with ambiguity and little hand-holding — this is a founding, build-it-as-you-go role.
Nice to have
- Existing relationships with school decision-makers or transport vendors.
- Experience selling a safety / parent-facing product (parents are the emotional buyer, schools are the economic buyer).
- Early-stage startup experience.
What success looks like
- Month 1–3: ramped on the product and pitch; first 15–20 school conversations; 2–3 pilots live.
- Month 3–6: a repeatable pitch + pilot playbook; predictable weekly pipeline.
- Month 6–12: renewing schools; you've helped define pricing, ICP, and the sales motion we scale on.
What we offer
- Competitive base + uncapped incentives on schools/revenue closed.
- Founding-team equity/ESOPs for the right person.
- Direct access to the founders and outsized ownership of the go-to-market.
- A product parents genuinely love and that makes kids safer.
