Title:Business Analyst II Duration : 9 months Location:Culver City, CA
Job Description Dedicated build capacity to lead the onboarding of forecasting models (Promo Sign Ups, Subscription Churn, Total Customers) into a financial forecasting platform built in TM1 and Apliqo. This role will produce documentation for each model build and improvement while establishing a repeatable model-onboarding framework. The BA serves as the bridge between Finance stakeholders and TM1 engineering by translating finance reporting requirements and model logic into technical specifications, coordinating implementation, and owning user acceptance testing. Core Activities
Gather and document finance reporting requirements from Finance stakeholders; translate requirements into technical specifications for TM1/Apliqo implementation.
Define data requirements and source-data contracts for each model; identify gaps between Finance Excel model requirements and current system capabilities and propose solutions within TM1/Apliqo constraints.
Wireframe and propose UI/UX improvements for forecast adjustments, ensuring users can access only the required adjustments while maintaining complete reporting visibility after updates.
Partner with engineering teams to design, build, test, and deploy financial model updates within the TM1/Apliqo platform.
Define and execute UAT plans; validate that cube changes produce expected, financially accurate outputs before production release.
Document business rules, calculation logic, and data lineage for onboarded forecasting dimensions.
Identify gaps in platform validation checks and collaborate with TM1/Apliqo, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to implement improvements.
Trace metric discrepancies across reporting systems back to pipeline-level or cube-level root causes.
Own the engineering ticket queue end-to-end, including intake, tracking, prioritization, and closure, while aligning strategic initiatives with business priorities.
Required Qualifications
4–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst supporting finance systems or enterprise planning tools.
Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
Ability to assess existing business processes and design improved workflows, including wireframing and UI/UX proposals.
Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis.
Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to query relational databases, validate data, and trace data lineage.
Experience planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with TM1, Planning Analytics, or Apliqo.
Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehouse concepts (Redshift or similar platforms).
Understanding of FP&A concepts including forecasting, actuals vs. plan variance analysis, and dimensional modeling.
Experience supporting media, streaming, subscription, or similar business models.
