Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Operations Officer III to support AML Operations with a focus on FINTRAC Electronic Funds Transfer Reporting (EFTR). The successful candidate will perform independent reviews of EFTR data discrepancies, remediate regulatory reporting records, validate data accuracy, and ensure compliance with FINTRAC reporting requirements. This is a back-office role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage moderate-to-high complexity operational tasks within a financial services environment. Key Responsibilities:
Perform independent reviews of EFTR data discrepancies and incomplete regulatory reporting records.
Investigate, analyze, and remediate EFTR reporting exceptions using internal systems and source documentation.
Validate data accuracy through reconciliations, verification, and exception handling.
Execute EFTR regulatory reporting activities in accordance with FINTRAC requirements, internal policies, and operational controls.
Draft and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with internal business partners to obtain missing or conflicting data.
Identify, assess, and escalate data quality issues, operational risks, and control gaps within defined SLAs.
Support regulatory reporting activities while maintaining complete audit trails and documentation.
Perform transaction analysis to identify unusual or high-risk reporting scenarios.
Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance examinations by providing documentation and operational insights.
Contribute to process improvements, workflow enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy targets while handling moderate-to-high complexity workloads.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and AML Operations teams to ensure timely regulatory reporting outcomes.
Share knowledge with team members and participate in cross-training initiatives.
Ensure confidentiality while handling sensitive customer and regulatory information.
Must-Have Skills:
1.5+ years of progressive experience in FINTRAC Electronic Funds Transfer Reporting (EFTR).
Prior experience within a corporate or financial services environment.
Experience performing EFTR regulatory reporting, remediation, and data validation.
Knowledge of AML regulatory reporting requirements and operational controls.
Ability to independently manage moderate-to-high complexity operational tasks.
Experience with data reconciliation, exception handling, and regulatory reporting remediation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Previous Similar Bank experience.
Experience supporting AML Operations within large Canadian financial institutions.
Knowledge of regulatory audits and compliance reviews.
Experience identifying process improvements within regulatory reporting operations.
Familiarity with Business Continuity, Operational Risk, or Regulatory Reporting frameworks.
