Job Title: Product Software Integration & Test Engineer Location: San Diego, CA (100% Onsite) Duration: 12 Months
Job Overview: Client is seeking a Product Software Integration & Test Engineer to support software development, integration, debugging, and validation for next-generation embedded platforms including smartphones, computing devices, automotive infotainment & ADAS systems, and Industrial IoT products. The engineer will collaborate closely with software, hardware, systems, architecture, and test teams to deliver high-quality embedded software solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Software Integration
Integrate software components and configurations to meet product specifications.
Perform software bring-up and enablement on ARM and x86-based platforms.
Resolve build failures and software interface dependencies.
Create and maintain build scripts to streamline software generation.
Manage software configuration using Git, GitHub, Gerrit, Perforce, or similar version control tools.
Release and maintain software baselines.
Software Testing & Validation
Perform sanity and regression testing on embedded software builds.
Execute testing on target hardware, simulators, and reference platforms.
Debug software failures using JTAG, ADB, TRACE32, QXDM, and system logs.
Analyze Linux and Android device logs to identify root causes.
Develop automation scripts for testing and log analysis using Python.
Create and maintain test plans for new software features.
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in embedded software development.
Strong programming skills in C.
Experience developing software on ARM and x86 platforms.
Hands-on experience with Linux-based operating systems including Android, Yocto, Ubuntu, RHEL, or QNX.
Experience with software integration and embedded system bring-up.
Strong debugging skills using JTAG or similar on-target debugging tools.
Experience with QXDM or similar diagnostic tools for Linux/Android device debugging.
Ability to analyze complex system-level software issues and perform root cause analysis.
Understanding of RTOS fundamentals and embedded architecture.

Experience testing commercial smartphones or mobile devices.
Knowledge of 5G (SA, NSA, Sub-6, mmWave, ENDC, NRDC) and 4G LTE (TDD/FDD) technologies.
Understanding of handset-to-network call flows.
Experience troubleshooting Android devices.
Experience with OpenOCD or similar debugging tools.
Experience working with Automotive Infotainment, ADAS, IoT, or compute platforms.
Experience with CI/CD automation and software integration workflows.
