Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Next.js, Remix, and SSR.
Experience with design systems, Storybook, and design tokens.
Experience with micro-frontends and Module Federation.
Experience with D3, Canvas/WebGL, advanced data grids, and animation libraries.
Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC and enterprise SSO integrations.
Proven experience modernizing legacy front-end applications and improving developer experience (DX).

Responsibilities
Lead development of complex, user-facing web applications using React and TypeScript, owning front-end architecture and delivery.
Partner with UX and Product teams to translate designs into high-quality user experiences while considering performance, accessibility, and feasibility.
Establish and evolve front-end standards including component architecture, state management, routing, coding conventions, and testing practices.
Build using the Client's EXDS UI foundations, including design systems, component libraries, theming, responsive layouts, and cross-browser compatibility.
Drive performance and quality through Core Web Vitals optimization, bundle optimization, rendering strategies, caching, and observability.
Implement advanced UI capabilities including data visualization, real-time updates, offline-friendly applications, and complex forms/workflows.
Ensure secure client-side development practices, including authentication flows, token handling, secure storage, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with backend teams on GraphQL and REST API contracts, advocating for front-end friendly designs including pagination, filtering, caching, and error handling.

Required Qualifications
12+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in front-end web development.
Expert-level proficiency in React, including hooks, component composition, context, and rendering optimization.
Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills.
Experience with modern front-end tooling including Vite, Webpack, Babel/SWC, npm/pnpm/yarn, and build/release pipelines.
Strong CSS expertise, including responsive design, theming, and scalable styling approaches.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Cypress.
Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA) and accessibility testing practices.
Experience optimizing application performance, including Core Web Vitals, bundle splitting, SSR/CSR strategies, and caching.
Strong GraphQL and REST API integration experience.
Knowledge of web security best practices, including XSS/CSRF prevention and secure authentication/session management.
Experience with front-end observability, logging, monitoring, and production debugging.
Required: Hands-on experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for development, testing, refactoring, and debugging.
