Application Security Expert – AI
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Security Expert with strong expertise in modern application security practices and the ability to leverage AI technologies to improve security outcomes. This individual will play a key role in advancing AI-assisted application security capabilities by using AI to perform secure code reviews, analyze vulnerabilities, and enhance the efficiency of application security testing.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Application Security, secure code review, vulnerability triage, and modern security testing methodologies, combined with hands-on experience using AI/LLM technologies to automate and accelerate security workflows. While a software engineering background is beneficial, the primary focus of this role is on applying application security expertise through AI-powered approaches.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform secure code reviews to identify security vulnerabilities and provide remediation guidance.
• Triage and validate findings generated by application security testing tools, including SAST, DAST, and Software Composition Analysis (SCA).
• Leverage AI/LLM technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of secure code reviews, vulnerability analysis, and security investigations.
• Develop and refine prompts, context engineering techniques, and AI workflows to support application security use cases.
• Evaluate AI models, frameworks, and tools for application security effectiveness, accuracy, and security implications.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and platform teams to improve secure development practices and vulnerability remediation.
• Review application architectures and development patterns to identify security risks and recommend improvements.
• Develop proof-of-concepts, automation, and AI-assisted workflows that enhance application security operations.
• Validate AI-generated findings and continuously improve detection quality and operational efficiency.
• Document security recommendations, technical guidance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Application Security, Secure SDLC, or a related security engineering role.
• Strong experience performing secure code reviews across modern application environments.
• Extensive experience triaging vulnerabilities identified through application security testing tools.
• Deep understanding of secure coding practices and common application security vulnerabilities.
• Hands-on experience with application security testing methodologies, including:
  • SAST
  • DAST
  • Software Composition Analysis (SCA)
  • OWASP Top 10
• Experience leveraging AI/LLM technologies to support secure code reviews, vulnerability analysis, or security engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering and context engineering to maximize AI effectiveness for security-related tasks.
• Experience working with APIs, cloud-native applications, and modern CI/CD development pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing or implementing AI-assisted security tooling or vulnerability detection capabilities.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks and services such as OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, LangChain, or similar technologies.
• Experience integrating AI into security operations or DevSecOps workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and automated security testing.
• Understanding of AI security risks, including prompt injection, model misuse, AI governance, and secure AI development.
• Software engineering experience in Python, JavaScript, or other modern programming languages is considered an asset but is not required.
