Project: HFM to Oracle FCCS Migration
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Validation Senior Advisor to support a large-scale finance transformation initiative involving the migration of the organization's financial consolidation platform from Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) to Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS). This role will play a critical part in validating financial data throughout the migration lifecycle to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of consolidation, reporting, and financial close processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Financial Reporting, Consolidation, Technology, and implementation partner teams to validate converted data, investigate variances, support issue resolution, and provide documented evidence of testing throughout System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Parallel Close, and production readiness activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned FCCS data validation activities across entities, accounts, currencies, reporting periods, and consolidation levels.
  • Validate Oracle GL/ERP data loads, opening balances, converted HFM journals, monthly financial activity, and FCCS consolidation outputs.
  • Compare financial results between HFM, Oracle FCCS, and source systems using Smart View, Excel validation workbooks, reconciliation reports, ad hoc queries, and financial reports.
  • Review financial results at both the base entity and consolidated reporting levels in functional currencies and CAD.
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate material differences between legacy and target systems.
  • Validate:
    • Opening balances
    • Monthly financial activity
    • Converted journal entries
    • Consolidation calculations
    • Foreign currency translation
    • Intercompany eliminations
    • Plug accounts
    • Reporting outputs
    • Financial statement impacts
  • Identify, document, classify, and track validation issues related to:

  • Maintain detailed validation documentation, including:
    • Test evidence
    • Screenshots

  • Record and manage defects using QTest or similar test management tools.
  • Partner with Finance, Reporting, Technology, Consolidation, and implementation teams to support issue investigation and timely resolution.
  • Retest resolved defects and confirm successful remediation before closure.
  • Provide regular progress updates, communicate risks and blockers, and participate in project meetings and status discussions.
  • Support project readiness activities for SIT, UAT, Parallel Close, and production go-live.
  • Recommend improvements to validation templates, documentation standards, and repeatable validation processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Senior-level experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial consolidations, finance systems, or finance transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Financial close processes

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) or comparable senior finance experience is preferred.
