Position: Sr. Technical Project Manager – Process & Systems Transformation Location: Remote Duration: 6 Months
Job Description: Client is looking for a highly motivated, business-focused Digital Technologies (DT) Senior Technical Delivery/Project Manager to join our Program Management Office (PMO). The PMO is part of an enterprise shared services organization and is responsible for leading significant business transformation technology projects that reach across the company. These projects span the business functions, and our organization supports both Enterprise as well as business-specific solutions. The Project Manager will employ a variety of Project Methodologies and Frameworks (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall) speed to value. The Senior Project Manager is ultimately responsible for planning and executing the project and enabling the internal customer organization to achieve their objectives and realize business value.
Responsibilities:
Support communication, change management, and all project management in line with Enterprise Infrastructure PMO standards.
Lead, manage, and facilitate concurrent projects, while remaining flexible with changing priorities, timeframes, and scope of services.
Leads and or participates in Project Steering Committees as assigned.
Possesses advanced knowledge of project management applications (i.e. Planview, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite).
Analyzes, documents, and shares lessons learned with other project managers.
Lead project initiation, definition, planning, coordination, and delivery of key strategic initiatives
Coordinate with senior leaders and executives to define business objectives, determine scope and funding needs, and establish business cases supporting project investments
Select, develop, and leverage appropriate technical and business resources needed for successful project execution
Align project team around project visions, strategy, goals, and business objectives
Track team member performance
Manage cross-functional project teams
Coordinate and control team activities, including technical implementation tasks, process reengineering, and organizational change activities to achieve desired results
Prepare project execution plans and ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, meet technical requirements, and achieve business objectives
Ability to take on roles in an Agile framework, such as Scrum Master or Product Manager, or Product Owner
Manage budgets and schedules
Follow established processes and procedures and influence policy, practice and procedure
Manage and assess project risk
Maintain project repositories
Identify and engage appropriate technical and business resources needed for successful project execution; Coaches/mentors team members and lower-level professionals to ensure quality work products
Manage project resources
Lead regular project reviews with customers and stakeholders, including senior IT and business leaders
Coordinate and maintain program communications
Document and review lessons learned
Identify and establish effective internal and external relationships to accomplish project objectives
Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team
Actively manage internal/external suppliers including alignment of the critical path within an integrated schedule
Define and manage readiness elements that support achieving business and financial objectives
Ensure project results are of the highest caliber, meeting technical and behavioral objectives, business case targets, and planned value
Required:
Minimum 8+ years’ applicable experience and a university degree or equivalent combination of work experience in IT Project management and certifications
University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or related discipline or equivalent combination of work experience in DT Project management.
Proven experience delivering on SAP S4 Hana implementations
Proven experience with Networking, VCAP, Firewall, Cloud.
Hands on Experience delivering on projects with varied project methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid.
Working with technical teams to define and implement IT solution architectures, including software development, software configuration and integration, and IT infrastructure implementations
Managing multiple projects simultaneously
Developing business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
Influencing and working across multiple organizations and levels, as well as across multiple geographic regions
Demonstrated skill leading and participating in virtual meetings
Eliciting cooperation from a wide variety of sources
Working both independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environments
Proficient use of Microsoft applications (i.e., Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Familiarity with phase gating process
Travel within US possible to support project activities with geographically distributed teams
Preferred:
Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
Familiarity with cloud security solutions and hybrid cloud environments.
PMP, CSM, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Scrum Master
ITIL
