Job Description

Job Title: Technical Program Manager III
Duration: 6 months (strong possibility of extension)
Location: SF, CA Office (Hybrid- 3 days onsite per week)
Summary:
  • A Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a specialized role focused on driving the execution of complex technical programs and projects. TPMs leverage their technical expertise, program leadership, and strategic influence to proactively identify and solve problems, drive alignment across cross-functional teams (XFNs), and increase execution efficiency and communications.
Must-Have HARD Skills:
  • Tracking and facilitating XFN-heavy Data Engineering requests. This includes partnering with stakeholders to align on expectations, building/managing/tracking tasks/projects/sprints, developing documentation, producing executive comms, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written comms, experience developing presentations for leadership, memos for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organization / attention to detail
Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Experience working in eDiscovery and/or other highly-regulated environments (e.g. legal, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, finance, etc)
  • Non-traditional background / interdisciplinary experience. Working in other roles, industries, startups, etc is welcome, as long as someone has at least 5-7 years of total experience in TPM and DE. (Big tech background is not necessary.)
  • Experience leveraging AI to improve processes / automate workflows. etc.

Key Responsibilities of TPMs:
  • Program Definition: Help define the right scope, goals, and metrics for projects and programs.
  • Roadmap Alignment: Build alignment between teams and coordinate dependencies.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify risks early and work to reduce surprises. Communication: Keep stakeholders informed and ensure transparency.
  • Program Execution: Track progress, remove blockers, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance process structures to support project teams.
  • Technical Leadership: Advocate for quality in technical design and system architectures, and influence team culture for higher product quality.
Surrounding team & key projects:
  • The eDiscovery team is responsible for managing the exchange of electronic information in the context of litigation, regulatory actions, and internal investigations. Their work centers on electronically stored information (ESI), which includes identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, analytics, production, and reporting of data in response to legal and regulatory matters. The TPM role oversees the projects and workstreams for our Data Engineering team within eDiscovery & Information Governance. These include work directly needed for our legal matters, as well as broader projects to enhance operational workflows.
Interview Process:
  • How many rounds of interviews? Who will be conducting each round? 1-2 (one initial screen, one follow-up for those who pass the first round).
  • Types of Interviews (behavioral, technical, presentation, etc.) What should the contractor expect to talk about or what should they prepare? 1st round is XFN / comms, second round (if the candidate passes the first round) will be behavioral / technical scenarios (non-coding).
  • Interview Duration First sync: 30 min. Second sync: 45 minutes.
