Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid 3 days work from office)
Duration: 6+ Months

Skills Required:
• Strong database and Java fundamentals.
• PySpark, Scala, Hive
• Ability to generate code using Github copilot

Required Skills & Experience
Strong software engineering background with experience developing enterprise-scale applications
Expertise in object-oriented and/or functional programming (e.g., Java, Python, Scala)
Experience designing and consuming APIs and system integrations
Broad experience in technology delivery within complex financial systems
Knowledge of capital markets, Banking, Compliance, and Trade Lifecycle concepts
Familiarity with international regulations such as MAD/MAR and regulatory-driven systems
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience working within secure, controlled enterprise environments

Nice to Have
Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-hosted third party solutions
Automation and testing experience (e.g., Selenium, test frameworks)
Exposure to event-driven systems, messaging, or distributed architectures
Prior experience contributing to surveillance, risk, or compliance platforms
DevOps or CI/CD pipeline experience

Highly Preferred
Prior Trade Surveillance system development experience
Strong Python or Scala development skills
Experience building or enhancing regulatory-driven applications
System integration and enhancement work within vendor-based platforms

Must have: Scala, Spark, MongoDB, Advanced SQL skills
Financial industry background is highly preferred.
