This role will focus on conducting business valuations for RIAs, wealth management firms, and financial advisory businesses in support of mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, internal equity transfers, enterprise value growth strategies, and other strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Valuation
- Conduct business valuations for wealth management and financial advisory firms for purposes including mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, internal ownership transfers, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Coordinate with senior appraisers to ensure timely delivery of work packages in advance of client meetings
- Analyze historical financial statements, normalize owner compensation, evaluate profitability trends, and identify key drivers of enterprise value.
- Build and maintain valuation models using discounted cash flow (DCF), market comparables, and other relevant valuation methodologies.
- Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the financial impact of various business decisions and ownership structures.
- Build, maintain, and improve complex financial models used in valuation analysis and client engagements.
- Create dynamic Excel models that incorporate forecasting assumptions, scenario analysis, benchmarking data, and valuation calculations.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, benchmark performance, and generate business insights.
- Maintain and organize internal valuation databases and benchmarking datasets, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Continuously improve internal modeling tools, automate repetitive processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency across valuation workflows.
- Prepare client-facing valuation reports, exhibits, financial models, and presentation materials.
- Participate in client meetings, discovery sessions, and management interviews to gather relevant business and financial information.
- Conduct industry research, macroeconomic analysis, and capital markets research to support valuation assumptions.
- Develop benchmarking studies and maintain industry intelligence related to valuation trends within the wealth management industry.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices impacting advisory firm valuations and enterprise value.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in business valuation, financial analysis, or a related field; experience in financial services or wealth management strongly preferred
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial information.
- Familiarity with valuation methodologies and approaches, with a desire to deepen expertise over time
- Interest in pursuing professional credentialing such as CVA or ASA supported by the firm
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing highly accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under competing deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with limited oversight.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, think critically, and make sound independent judgments.
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and project management skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to contribute beyond assigned responsibilities.

- Excel functionality including:
- Pivot Tables
- Data validation
- Formula auditing and error tracing
- Building clean, scalable, linked workbooks
- Dynamic reporting and dashboard creation
- Power Query
- Model automation and process improvement experience
- Experience working with valuation or transaction models

- Progressively develop advanced valuation expertise and independent appraisal capabilities
- Pursue professional valuation credentials including Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designations
- Continue building technical proficiency in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and transaction advisory work
- Grow into a Senior Appraiser role with increasing responsibility for leading valuation engagements, managing complex analyses, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients
