Job Title: Solutions Developer V
Duration: 12 months (Possibility of extension/conversion based on business needs)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 2 days onsite a week)

Scope of Project: Personal finance mobile application support and maintenance – potential for re-design work (full stack – primarily backend)

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers, business partners, QE, and architecture to deliver high-quality solutions
• Work in an Agile environment, actively participating in ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Contribute to the development and delivery of features through 2-week sprint cycles, owning and executing assigned user stories
• Provide regular updates on progress, blockers, and outcomes to ensure team alignment and delivery success

MUST-HAVE Hard Skills:

1. 10+ years of back-end development experience
2. Strong backend fundamentals, such as distributed system design, API design, container orchestration, and familiarity with MVCC concepts etc.
3. 5+ years of Web development experience
4. 10+ years of JavaScript/TypeScript experience
5. 5+ years of experience using Kafka, Postgres, and Kubernetes experience

Soft Skills:

1. Very strong and clear communication (written and verbal)
2. Strong problem-solving skills
3. Strong facilitation skills
4. Self-motivated, well organized, able to work both independently and in a team environment
5. Attention to detail and someone who is a self-starter and adaptable

Nice to Have

1. Familiarity with iOS and Android native development concepts, such as app lifecycle, push notifications, xcode and code signing, etc.
2. Cordova/Ionic v1 (AngularJS)
3. Redis
4. Banking or financial institution experience.

 10+ years of experience

Level of education:
Post secondary (college or university) education is mandatory (Computer Science or programming are preferred)
