Consultants bridge business needs with system capabilities, delivering high-value financial processes through configuration, workshops, and stakeholder alignment.
Day to Day
- An operational leader for Financial Planning and Analysis addressing a sizable internal customer group, with high levels of independence in planning and carrying out work.
- A senior experienced team member leading and providing administrative and functional support to the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
- Work within a framework and guide team members.
- This role supervises the Lead – Finance role
- Play an integral role in the global rolling forecast process; providing coordinating support and creating improvements
- Financial advisor for the BU’s, working closely with BU management on budget planning and forecasting
- Manage sizeable portfolio with the desired EBITDA contribution to the organization
- Review exceptions to policies and provide financial direction
- Provide effective financial controls for the BU-s and ensure compliance with corporate processes and procedures
- Maintain sound relationship with the BU’s/management/stakeholders/customers by conducting regular meetings and calls
- Pro-actively alert the business on possible business performance impacts and help mitigate the financial risks
- Recognize the need for controls, and; Mentor team members on standard operating procedures and provide guidance
- Recognize and maintain confidential information
- Preparation and Consolidation of Financial Statements
- Support the budget requirement and forecast planning and manage reporting
- Performance planning – prepare/ sign off on Key Result Areas / deliverables of the team in order to meet the operational objectives of the team
- Work allocation - Allocating work / shifts to team members in order to achieve targets
- Optimization of resources
- Predict financial situations, utilizing financial modelling
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct finance process workshops to gather requirements, perform fit-gap analysis, and design solutions for GL setup, multi-currency, intercompany transactions, and consolidations compliant with US and Indian statutory rules.
- Configure and test core Finance modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budget Control, Cash & Bank Management, and Project Accounting, optimizing for automation and audit trails.
- Lead data migration for financial master data (CoA, vendors, customers) and historical transactions using Data Management Framework, including validation and reconciliation.
- Define financial reporting structures, including financial dimensions, SSRS/Power BI reports, and electronic reporting for US 1099, Indian TDS/TCS, and GST filings.
- Collaborate with technical teams on integrations (e.g., banking APIs, treasury systems) and customizations, ensuring adherence to best practices and minimal technical debt.
- Provide user training, UAT support, cutover planning, and hypercare for finance go-lives, resolving issues in real-time across global teams.
- Support pre-sales with finance demos, RFI/RFP responses, and effort estimates tailored to USA/India client needs.
- Mentor junior consultants and drive continuous improvement through process reengineering and D365 release updates.
Required Experience (8-10 Years)
- 8-10 years in ERP/finance consulting, with 5+ years hands-on in D365 F&O / AX Finance modules across 3+ full lifecycle implementations.
- Proven USA/India project exposure, including localization for GST, TDS, US tax reporting, and multi-company consolidations.
- Experience in Agile delivery, onshore-offshore models, and finance process optimization (e.g., procure-to-pay, order-to-cash).
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor s/Master s in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CA, CPA, or MBA (Finance) preferred; Microsoft certifications (MB-310, MB-300) essential.
- Deep expertise in D365 Finance configuration: ledgers, journals, dimensions, tax engines, budgeting, and intercompany.
- Strong analytical skills for gap analysis, process mapping (Visio), and financial close optimization.
- Excellent communication for C-suite workshops and documentation across USA/India stakeholders.
- Behavioral Competencies Proactive problem-solver with business acumen to recommend out-of-box solutions over custom code.
- Collaborative team player adept at global delivery and change management.
