Job Title: Lab Technician II 
Location: Houston, Texas 77064 (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months (Possibility of extension)
Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Job Responsibilities 

• The main function of a lab technician is to perform routine analytical laboratory testing on hydrocarbon- or water-based samples, in support of research, development, quality objectives, and Sales support.
• Assist, operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Execute analytical methods and experiments in accordance with approved procedures, test methods, and safety guidelines. 
• Accurately record, analyze, and interpret analytical data, ensuring completeness, traceability, and compliance with laboratory standards. Prepare and maintain clear, well-documented records, reports, and data summaries to support technical reviews and decision-making. 
• Communicate analytical results promptly and effectively to scientists, engineers, and Sales. 
• Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and housekeeping practices, maintaining an organized and compliant work environment.

Required Skills:

• LIMS or other similar software experience 
• Familiarity with ASTM Methods
• Comfortable using analytical instruments
• Strong skills MS Office Suite, specifically PPT, Word, Excel
• Strong soft skills are required for communication with various levels of stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and assist other Analytical SMEs. 
• Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose anomalies in testing results and instrumentation 
• Ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.

Education/Experience: 

• B.S. Chemistry Preferred or combination of education
• 5-7 years of hands on exp
