Job Description

Job Title: IT Program Manager
Duration: 12 months
Location: Columbia, SC 29219 /Hybrid
Partial Onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Onsite, and as Needed.
Interviews: In Person
Hours: 40 hours a week - Possibly weekends during deployments, a couple of times a year.
 
Team: Enterprise Delivery Services/Project Management Service/ServiceNow Portfolio. This portfolio (4 other PMs) focuses solely on the implementation of ServiceNow, a multi-million-dollar, three year effort with lots of work on the horizon. We work in a co-located space with the entire ServiceNow team, including Design, Development and PMO, so PMs have close proximity to the team. The team is close-knit, with periodic happy hours and lunches. Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is required.
 
Manager Note: I am looking for a really good PROJECT MANAGER. I don’t need big thinkers, I need someone to work with the big thinkers and organize them into action. I don’t want anyone from Operations unless they also have experience in creating and following a project plan and have demonstrably done so. ServiceNow experience is truly just a nice-to-have. I can teach them ServiceNow – I need a PROJECT MANAGER.

Day to Day:
  • Looking for organized, experienced Project Manager who can deliver in a structured environment.
  • Responsible for overall delivery of ServiceNow module implementations. Schedule and recap meetings and stand-ups, assign and track tasks daily.
  • Maintain MS Project project plan, timeline, budget and all auditable artifacts in other appropriate formats.
  • Deliver quality products on time, within budgeted hours. Monitor tasks, assignments, and hours daily.
  • Compile and deliver clear briefing slides and other communications and status reports. Assign appropriate resources and escalate quickly.
  • Track key milestones and adjust project plans to meet the needs of work effort.
  • Responsible for leading the project from inception to final business acceptance and implementation, providing excellent customer service along the way.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in any major.
 
Required Work Experience: 7 years IT experience in a leadership capacity, including 4 years leading multiple concurrent project teams. Completion of the client’s Training Program for Project Management may substitute for one year of experience.
 
Preferred Licenses and Certificates: PMP Certification

Job Description:
  • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
  • Responsible for multiple work efforts of any size, from minimum complexity system/customer impacts to greater complexity system/customer impacts.
  • Adheres to project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budgeted hours, adheres to high quality standards, and meets ISSM expectations.
  • Monitors project plans, assignments and work efforts on a daily basis. Ensures resource needs are assigned appropriately and escalates functional, quality, timeline issues.
  • Tracks key project milestones and adjusts project plans to meet the needs of work effort.
  • Responsible for leading the project from inception to final business acceptance and implementation.
  • Mentors other project leads and participates in the training and development of staff.  
  • 20% Develops and monitors project plans, risk management plans, and project documentation from scope to post implementation.
  • Ensures project documentation and deliverables are complete, on budget, within scope, and in accordance with standards.
  • 20% Identifies items that impact the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort. Monitors resource requirements based on project specifications. Ensures resources are assigned to meet project objectives while managing project hours budgeted.
  • 20% Responsible for the development, execution, and maintenance of project communications.
  • Facilitates effective communications between all parties involved in the project and/or work efforts. This will include meetings, correspondence, status reports and other documentation.
  • 20% Identifies the impact of issues arising from the work efforts and/or resource requirements. Manages the project issues throughout the project life cycle. Communicates the implications of changes to the project scope with senior management and other appropriate parties.
  • 10% Responsible for ensuring all work efforts have appropriate documentation for audit purposes utilizing project methodology standards in accordance with the ISSM.
  • 10% Coaches, develops, mentors other team members. May provide guidance and leadership to staff pertaining to training and department initiatives. May provide oversight for a group of work efforts as requested. May perform peer reviews of project artifacts. null
