Job Description

Position Title: Clinical Pharmacist
Assignment Duration: 6 Months 
Work Location: Remote (Candidates can be located in any U.S. time zone)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 Hours/Week
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Client Location: Tampa, Florida

Position Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist ensures injured workers receive the appropriate care through effective clinical intervention methods. This role collaborates with cross-functional clinical experts to make recommendations and ensure alignment on intervention direction, enhancements, and effective clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess prescription appropriateness by reviewing patient medical history, drug interactions, contraindications, and potential adverse effects to identify medication-related concerns and recommend adjustments.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends in medication usage, potential drug safety concerns, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Review medication requests from providers to determine whether medications should be approved or dispensed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to educate and guide appropriate medication use, including clinical guidelines, best practices, and drug interactions.
  • Partner with cross-functional clinical teams to support intervention strategies and positive patient outcomes.
  • Maintain strong verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of Clinical Pharmacist experience (candidates directly out of pharmacy school will not be considered). Candidates with several years of experience are preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate clinical data and make informed medication decisions.
  • Ability to assess medication appropriateness, patient safety concerns, adverse reactions, and drug interactions.
  • Experience reviewing patient medical history and provider medication requests.

Education

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Certifications & Licenses

  • Current active Pharmacy License / Registered Pharmacist (RPh) License in good standing.
