Title: Financial Analyst III
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid / Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary
The client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Analyst III to support the External Affairs team’s budget and operational processes. This role will focus on budget management, vendor onboarding, financial compliance, forecasting, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional operational support.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and proven experience managing budgets and operational processes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the External Affairs team budget, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the client’s financial policies.
  • Oversee day-to-day budget operations and support quarterly forecasting activities in partnership with the finance team.
  • Conduct budget forecasting and auditing for high-spend programs and ensure teams remain within compliance guidelines.
  • Onboard vendors and manage procurement-related processes while ensuring adherence to the clients procurement policies.
  • Serve as the team’s subject matter expert for:
    • Budget management
    • Vendor onboarding
    • Ad credit processes
  • Meet regularly with External Affairs leads and Policy administrators to:
    • Provide budget updates
    • Maintain transparency
    • Ensure alignment across teams
  • Support End-of-Year (EOY) budget processes and communicate deadlines to ensure timely compliance.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional review processes end-to-end, including:
    • Intake of proposals
    • Updating trackers
    • Soliciting and organizing feedback
    • Securing and documenting approvals
  • Coordinate externally with outside counsel and internally with legal and compliance teams to ensure vendor and organizational compliance with the client’s policies.
  • Independently manage stakeholder communications and vendor negotiations.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Budget management
    • Program management
    • Financial operations
    • Related fields
  • Proven experience managing budgets independently in high-spend environments.
  • Strong forecasting and budget auditing experience.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors and handling stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional review processes from intake to approval.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency with productivity and financial management tools.
  • Experience collaborating with finance, legal, compliance, and operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Client’s experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting External Affairs, Policy, or operational teams is a plus.

Team & Project Overview
This role supports Client’s External Affairs team with budget management and operational execution. Responsibilities include:
  • Budget tracking and forecasting
  • Vendor onboarding and management
  • Cross-functional review coordination
  • Financial and procurement compliance
  • Stakeholder communication and operational transparency
The team is seeking self-starters who can independently manage vendors, navigate ambiguity, and effectively drive stakeholder communications and meetings.
