About Role End User Platform Services is a highly technical team that owns and evolves local and remote end user services, including Citrix, VDI, VPN, Intune, network printing, and physical workstations. We define global PC and Citrix configuration standards to ensure endpoints are secure, performant, and compliant, while continuously improving the end?user experience across all access methods. For senior engineers, this role offers more than operations—you’ll help shape platform strategy and long term technical vision, translating business capabilities into scalable standards and roadmap initiatives. Our work emphasizes automation, low/no touch design, and modernization, guided by a prioritized backlog that balances operational excellence with strategic platform improvements
Key Responsibilities (Operational / Hands?On)
Reviews platform health, alerts, and escalations across Citrix, remote access, VDI, and endpoints
Troubleshoots complex issues spanning endpoint, security, network, and virtual platforms
Performs deep technical analysis on configuration, security, certificate, and network changes
Supports proofs of technology, pilots, and platform testing efforts
Provides technical input for audit, compliance, and disaster recovery activities
Serves as a senior escalation point and technical advisor for day?to?day operations
Develops recommendations for platform modernization, risk reduction, and cost optimization
Documents line of sight from current state to future state for platform initiatives
Creates concept diagrams, architecture visuals, and flow diagrams for shared understanding
Authors technical whitepapers and project narratives for management and executives
Translates complex technical topics into clear, executive?ready communications
Identifies long term platform risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities
Duties
Maintain a portfolio of multiple hardware and/or software technologies, products, and/or processes including standards of use, life cycles, and product evaluation and integration. Develop and maintain an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information and guidance of the infrastructure assigned. Provide guidance and training to less experience staff.
20% Perform technical interviews and analysis with vendors and/or stake holders to develop and track the road map/life cycle of infrastructure for hardware, software, products, and/or processes.
May schedule regular meetings, conference calls, or on-site visits with vendors and/or stake holders to keep abreast of current technology(s), products, and/or processes.
May review with vendor and/or stakeholders, known upcoming activities associated with their specific technology(s), product(s), and/or processes.
Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology, product, and/or process.
20% Facilitate the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, policies, standards, and desktop procedures to be used by the operational units to guide the use of each technology solution or product.
20% Assist in the research and development of new products including product evaluation, integration, or procedures of use.
20% Establish and maintain effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, and/or management staff.

REQUIRED technologies
Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (On?Prem & Cloud) XenApp/XenDesktop, NetScaler, StoreFront, Windows Server, Active Directory, HA, performance tuning, and security
Secure Remote Access / Zero Trust Zscaler (or equivalent), VPN technologies, and migration from legacy remote access models
VDI & Endpoint Platforms Windows workstation platforms, VDI integration, and cross?platform dependency awareness
Enterprise Networking & Security Integration
Firewalls, certificates, TLS, access controls, traffic routing, and security tooling as they impact endpoints and remote access
PREFERRED/NICE TO HAVE technologies Citrix Platform (Cloud & On Prem)
Testing and validating Citrix changes for performance, availability, and security impact
Supporting audit and compliance activities related to Citrix security and availability
Advising on migration strategies away from Citrix where appropriate (cost, risk, user impact)
Secure Remote Access / Zero Trust (Zscaler, VPN)
Designing and testing modern remote access patterns to replace or augment VPN/Citrix
Integrating secure remote access with existing endpoint, identity, and security tooling
Leading proof?of?technology (PoT/POC) efforts and documenting results for executive decision?making
Supporting production adoption through troubleshooting, tuning, and operational handoff
Endpoint & Virtual Workspace Technologies
Integrating remote access solutions with workstation OS standards and VDI platforms
Validating end?to?end user experience across physical endpoints, VDI, and remote access
Supporting platform lifecycle activities (OS refreshes, endpoint readiness for modern access)
Troubleshooting cross?platform issues involving endpoints, virtual desktops, and access layers
Endpoint Networking & Security Integration
Partnering with network and security teams to resolve access, firewall, TLS, and certificate issues
Analyzing downstream impacts of network/security policy changes on endpoints and virtual platforms
Participating in incident response and root?cause analysis tied to remote access or platform outages
Contributing technical guidance during high?risk change windows (Open Enrollment, Patch Tuesday)
Required Work Experience:
7 Years specific knowledge of the technologies, products, and/or processes to be supported. 3 Years directly supporting those technologies, products, and/or processes. (may be concurrent)
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job related field or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree
Required Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of a variety of information technology products and solutions.
Excellent research, customer service, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good judgment.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the IT organization.
Ability to lead and mentor less experienced staff.
