Title : Process Engineer II
Location : Plano Texas 75075
Duration : 6 months
Job summary :
The Process Engineer II is an independent?contributing engineer responsible for the design, sizing, and documentation of Ultra?Pure Water (UPW) and reclaim water treatment systems for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities. At this level, the engineer operates with limited supervision, produces complete and review?ready technical deliverables, and actively supports client and internal technical discussions.
The Process Engineer II is expected to execute system?level calculations and mass balances, develop process specifications, and coordinate closely with project, design, automation, and commissioning teams to ensure solutions meet performance, cost, schedule, and constructability requirements. This role represents the transition from task execution to technical ownership of defined scopes, with work routinely reviewed but no longer step?by?step directed.

Responsibilities
Independently perform system sizing, process calculations, and mass balances for Ultra?Pure Water (UPW) and reclaim water treatment systems, with senior review as required
Develop and maintain process specifications, design bases, and technical narratives aligned with contract documents and client standards
Prepare, update, and maintain P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment lists, and supporting calculations in coordination with design and CAD teams
Review vendor technical data, equipment proposals, and submittals for technical compliance and system integration
Support client technical discussions, design reviews, and internal coordination meetings by clearly communicating process intent and design assumptions
Coordinate with automation and controls engineers to align process design with control philosophy, sequences of operation, and functional logic
Provide technical support to project engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to resolve process?related issues
Participate in startup and commissioning activities, including troubleshooting and performance verification, as required
Demonstrate increasing technical ownership of assigned scopes while incorporating feedback from senior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement of process standards and best practices
Required qualifications:
Working knowledge of Ultra?Pure Water (UPW), reclaim, or industrial water treatment systems, including core unit operations such as RO, IX/EDI, filtration, and chemical systems
Familiarity with 3rd party sizing software (RO, GTM, pumps, Ion Exchange, PIPEFLO, etc.)
Ability to develop process calculations, system sizing, and mass balances with limited supervision and senior review
Experience preparing and maintaining process deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, process narratives, equipment lists, and technical specifications
Ability to collaborate effectively with project, mechanical, electrical, automation, and design teams to deliver coordinated and constructible system designs
Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant3D is a plus.
Required Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in the chemical or environmental engineering discipline is required from an accredited university or other related qualified training, Minimum of 2 years related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel notes:
Periodic travel to support customer design reviews and startup/commissioning efforts is required – max requirement would be up to two weeks at a time, potentially several times a year. This is project dependent.
