Job Title: Trade Administration Analyst
Duration: 12 Months
Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite; semi-flexible schedule. During training, alignment with team member onsite schedule required)
Work Location: Onsite presence required at designated office locations
Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Extension / Permanent Opportunity: Potential for contract extension and full-time conversion
 
JOB SUMMARY
The Trade Administration Analyst will provide day-to-day operational support within Global Settlement Operations, primarily focused on Canadian and U.S. equity trade clearing activities. This role is responsible for ensuring trades are accurately matched, reconciled, and positioned for timely settlement through daily controls, exception management, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The position also supports risk mitigation through strong process discipline, proper documentation, and adherence to operational procedures. Cross-training across related operational functions is expected.
Roles & Responsibilities

  • Process and oversee Canadian and U.S. equity trade clearing activities to ensure accurate and timely settlement.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, investigate trade breaks, and resolve discrepancies within established deadlines and control standards.
  • Research non-routine exceptions, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve operational quality and reduce risk.
  • Escalate unresolved issues and time-sensitive settlement risks to senior team members or management according to defined escalation procedures.
  • Partner with internal business stakeholders and downstream teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of trade lifecycle activities.
  • Maintain appropriate audit trails and ensure all work is completed in accordance with authority levels, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including planning, testing, and implementation of new or revised products, services, and operational procedures.
  • Support operational reporting, including service delivery, productivity, and quality metrics, and provide updates to management.
  • Provide on-the-job guidance and training to team members as requested and assist with escalations from junior staff where applicable.
  • Support additional operational functions as needed, including account transfers, cancel/corrects, tax reconciliations, step-outs, and STEP trade upload monitoring.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in capital markets operations, trade support, clearing, or settlements within Canadian and/or U.S. markets.
  • Experience with Canadian BPS and Broadridge.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, including matching, clearing, settlement, reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate breaks and resolve exceptions independently.
  • Understanding of operational risk controls, audit trail requirements, and regulatory awareness within a capital markets environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute time-sensitive controls and meet market deadlines.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with systems such as BPS/ADP, GEMS, IMatch, Global Framework, and DTC/OCC/Arrow/CDS portals.
  • Experience supporting additional operational functions such as regulatory support, metrics reporting, options processing, and settlement reconciliations.
