Job Description

Location: Aguadilla, PR

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for design, development, maintenance, testing, and quality and performance assurance of system software products.
  • Work within this job classification falls into three major categories:
    • (1) Maintenance and enhancement. Makes changes to system software to correct errors in the original implementation and creates extensions to existing programs to add new features or performance improvements.
    • (2) Major enhancement and new product design. Designs and develops major functional or performance enhancements for existing products, or produces new software products or tools.
    • (3) Quality and performance assurance. Reviews requirements, specifications and designs to assure product quality; develops and implements plans and tests for product quality or performance assurance.
  • Ability to apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues.
  • Works on problems/projects of moderately complex scope.
  • Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
  • Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input.
  • Follows established guidelines and interprets policies.
  • Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Recent graduate with minimal manufacturing experience is acceptable.
  • Job tasks may require the individual to perform entry-level or equivalent work assignments.
  • Problem-solving & troubleshooting of computer HW and SW, Basic Network skills, Programming (Python).
  • One or more Programming languages, Operating Systems and Database technologies
  • Visual Basic C/C + +, Windows (NT, 2000, XP).
  • Informix, SQL.
  • Factory automation and control (must have working experience), PLC
  • Allen Bradley (AB) Series 5, Control Logix
  • Machine vision system
  • Cognex, Matrox, Intelledex
  • PC hardware and software, support of tool and test equipment development
  • Knowledge of CAD drawing application and tools
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish (able to read and understand technical documents in English)
  • Experience with ISO documentation structure
  • Flexibility to work overtime upon request to provide support on other shifts.
