Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 2
Work Location: Remote- TX, MO, CA
Assignment Duration: 6 months (Possibility to extend or convert)
Work Schedule: 9:30am-6pm CT
Work Arrangement: Remote
Position Summary: Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis. Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Background & Context: Order Entry focused role supporting Acaria Health Pharmacy within The Organization. Involves new business, new system implementation, and technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
• Locate correct medication and strength to complete picking of order.
• Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approval.
• Purchase, receive and coordinate inventory.
• Maintain and update inventory recap report.
• Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentation.
• Maintain prescription logs.
• Accurately calibrate equipment and document calibration according to policy.
• Assist with the maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and documents maintenance.
• Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Heavy Data entry. Process refills. Call doctors for refills. Call doctors for clarification. (per Notes)
Qualification & Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience.
• Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
• State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required). License is required upon hire.
• Foundation Care: Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license OR the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Must haves: Pharmacy Terminology knowledge, Dosage Calculations, Telephone Communication Skills/ computer savvy.
Additional Information: Possibility to extend or convert. New technology adoption. Good teamwork and open communication.
