Job Title: Mechanical Assembler, Senior
Location: San Diego, CA, 92121
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Shift: Mon–Fri, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM PST
Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented technician to perform mechanical and electronic assembly operations, including assembling components, sub-assemblies, and sheet metal enclosures. The role involves working with assembly prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to build and test units such as drawers, chassis, and racks. This position requires working on moderately complex assignments where judgment and problem-solving skills are needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and enclosures using drawings and schematics
* Perform hand soldering, wire harnessing, and cabling on assembly units
* Conduct routine go/no-go testing of circuits, components, and assemblies
* Set up and use test equipment and hand tools
* Document test results and maintain logs of malfunctions
* Perform repair work as required
* Follow established assembly methods and sequences
Must Have:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Experience with IPC-610 standards and circuit board assembly
* Knowledge of electronic components placement and polarity
* Ability to read schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams
* Experience in soldering, wire harnessing, and cable assembly
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Teams
* Good communication (written and verbal)
Work Environment:
* Fast-paced production environment
* Requires attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
* 100% onsite role with standard shift hours
