Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in building enterprise-scale, high-volume backend systems. This role focuses on developing and supporting microservices using modern Java technologies, with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend solutions
• Build enterprise applications using Java (17), J2EE, and Spring Boot microservices
• Develop and enhance microservices integrated with Kafka/JMS and middleware systems
• Work independently and take ownership of tasks from design through delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure)
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system designs
• Ensure proper test automation and alignment with system requirements
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues proactively
• Support applications outside regular business hours when needed
• Contribute to cloud-native and modernization initiatives using container platforms

 
Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot microservices
• Expertise in backend development, including:
  • Java-based services
  • Relational databases
  • Enterprise integrations
• 3+ years of SQL development (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
• Strong experience with Kafka
• Experience with:
  • Cloud platforms
  • Test automation frameworks
  • Basic front-end exposure (e.g., React)
• Ability to work independently with strong ownership mindset
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD pipelines
• Prior experience in financial services domain
