Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Manager II
Location: Watertown, MA 02472
Duration: 6 Months (Possibility of extension depending upon business requirements and performance)
Shift: M-F 8am – 4:30pm

  • Operational systems software experience (ie, BMS, CMMS)
 
Facilities Manager:
  • Responsible for the management of work outlined by the Sr. Facilities Manager in maintaining the facility, including maintenance contracts, and facility technician contract services.
  • Assure the effective functioning of a facility to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall services provided within the facility
  • Use best business practices to manage and reduce operation costs
  • Coordinate intra-office moves with project teams
  • Compare costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the facility
  • Manage the maintenance of the building by contracting maintenance services as needed
  • Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance in coordination with the building owner’s
  • Communicate with the building management firm who maintains surrounding grounds properly cared for and landscaped
  • Obtain quotes and agreements from vendors and suppliers
  • Handles verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing
  • Ensure efficient utilization of facility maintenance staff
  • Work with our security team to maintain system is active and responsive to company’s needs
  • Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility building systems (e.g., HVAC) alarms and system failures.
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships
  • Operational systems software experience (ie, BMS, CMMS – site uses Blue Mountain)
 
Experience/Training/Education:
  • A bachelor's degree in facilities management, Certificate Program for Facilities, or equivalent work experience.
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • 3-5 years of experience: with the latter half of candidate experience having the supervisory experience listed above
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills; organizational and planning skill
  • Leadership skills; ability to guide and motivate employees
