Job Title: Contract Manager I
Location: Andover, MA 01810 (Hybrid role. 2 days remote/3 days from Andover office.)
Duration: 5+ Months
 
Job Summary:
The Contract Manager I oversees the full lifecycle of contracts, from the creation and submission of contract packages or changing orders to final contract closure and issuance of purchase orders.  This role creates accurate and compliant Purchase Requests (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP MM?PUR, ensuring timely support to stakeholders. The role manages delegated micro?contracts up to $25K, including requesting quotes, validating scopes, and issuing PRs/POs in SAP while ensuring adherence to governance and spend controls. In addition, this role coordinates with suppliers to request quotations, negotiate basic commercial terms within delegated thresholds, and ensure fair and compliant supplier selection.
 
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
  • Create accurate and compliant Purchase Requests (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP MM?PUR, ensuring timely support to stakeholders.
  • Manage delegated micro?contracts up to $25K, including requesting quotes, validating scopes, and issuing PRs/POs in SAP while ensuring adherence to governance and spend controls.
  • Maintain and update purchasing catalogs by adding new materials, validating descriptions, ensuring accuracy of material groups, and aligning items with existing contracts.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to request quotations, negotiate basic commercial terms within delegated thresholds, and ensure fair and compliant supplier selection.
  • If requested, ensure packages submitted to Procurement for new contracts or change orders are complete, submitted in time, and meet all pre-tender requirements, including a detailed Purchase Request in SAP
  • Overseeing the overall contract request process, developing the required Annexes, Direct Assignment justification, working with stakeholders to prepare a detailed Scope of Work, schedule of values, and suggested vendor list.
  • Provide a complete handover of contract details to the Contract Supervisor, including deliverables, Acceptance Criteria, Schedule of Values, and warranty terms.
  • Reporting on the status of the contract packages under their assignment and when they are expected to be completed
  • Supporting the Manager in supplier performance monitoring and consequence management.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records of all contract documentation per company policies.

Supervision:
This position will not manage direct reports.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in contract management.
  • Proficient in SAP MM–PUR module, particularly in the creation of Purchase Requests (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Proactively communicates complex problems to management to ensure timely resolution
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and contractual terms.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly adaptable and capable of managing deadlines, ambiguity, and change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze information and develop actionable plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Italian is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% (domestic and international)
