Job Description
Job Title: Sr. UX Designer
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite)
Duration: 05 Months
We are looking for a talented and driven **Sr. UX Designer** to join our team on a 5-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for executing key design deliverables as we bring our vision for the evolved Kindle reading experience to life — across both apps and eReader devices.
Building on a prototype developed and validated through customer research, you will interpret research findings, iterate on design solutions, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to implement those solutions. You will collaborate daily with product, engineering, research, and UX partners in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Interpret customer research and translate insights into refined, user-centered design solutions
- Iterate on existing prototypes and design concepts to drive toward implementation-ready deliverables
- Produce high-quality UX artifacts including wireframes, interaction specs, and prototypes in Figma
- Partner with product, engineering, research, and UX teams to ensure designs are feasible, consistent, and aligned to the product vision
- Apply systems thinking to ensure design solutions scale across the Kindle app and eReader ecosystem
8+ years of UX design experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Strong proficiency in Figma
- Demonstrated experience in mobile app design and interaction design
- A systems thinking mindset with a human-centered design approach
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions to cross-functional partners
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal direction
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting in a dynamic environment

- 30 % research activities – understanding customer, readings
- 20 % meeting

Years of Experience
- At least 8yrs experience, 10 or more is preferred
- Performance Indicators Timeliness, ability to execute tasks, they know assigned tasks, ability to anticipate needs in the production job
- They are expected to make judgement on customers need
Degree/ Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s is preferred but not required - E.g Human Centered Design, Interaction Design
What background does someone have that is successful in this role?
- Successful shipping solutions that raise the bar from the customer experience perspective
- Deep knowledge on interaction patterns and demonstrated examples of experience to create simple solutions to customer
- Customer facing experience
- Fast-paced customer centric environment
