Title: Network Engineer IV
Location: Arlington, VA (WAS17-COMerli) – 100% Onsite (5 days/week)
Duration: 10 Months (Potential Extension Based on Performance & Business Need)
About the Role
Client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer IV to support the deployment, scaling, and automation of one of the world's largest and most complex networks. The engineer will work on clients infrastructure, helping maintain high reliability and performance while supporting network scaling activities.
This role requires strong experience in IP networking, routing protocols, network troubleshooting, and large-scale infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, has strong problem-solving skills, and can work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale network infrastructure for AWS.
- Support network scaling and decommissioning activities within the AWS Border Network.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve network reliability and performance.
- Implement scalable and automated networking solutions.
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability of services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or relevant networking certifications.
- 7+ years of industry experience in networking or network engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals and protocols.
- Extensive experience with routing protocols, especially:
- BGP
- OSPF
- Experience with Cisco router platforms including:
- 37xx
- 49xx
- 65xx
- 73xx
- 76xx
- Strong network troubleshooting and network analysis skills.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience with the following networking technologies and protocols:
- DWDM
- T1/DS1, DS3
- SONET (OC3, OC48)
- Ethernet standards (802.2 / 802.3)
- VLANs / STP (802.1d)
- IPv4 & IPv6
- TCP (internals & flow control)
- HSRP / GLBP
- PIMv2, IGMP
- LDP
- TACACS
- IPSEC & VPN technologies
- NetFlow
- DNS
- HTTP
