Job Title: Process Engineer I
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 6-12 Months (Possibility of extension or conversion)

 
Job Description
Join a dynamic and collaborative multi-disciplined engineering team. We support the organization by standing up pilot manufacturing lines for new product development. These manufacturing lines are intended to prototype, evaluate and validate product designs. This role is crucial to developing the software systems which capture, store and view the data which is produced from the manufacturing line. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, document and optimize new manufacturing process/assembly steps and operating procedures for new stations, equipment, and processes within a regulated quality system.
  • Proficient in Solidworks/CAD to design and develop fixtures and equipment components required to meet process goals from concept to implementation.
  • Plan and perform Design of Experiments (DOE) to characterize and determine optimal processing methods
  • Create and release equipment specifications and drawings, establish calibration and preventative maintenance requirements, and manufacturing or test procedures.
  • Develop mechanical or dimensional measurement methods using GR&R/MSA methodology
  • Proficient in statistical software for data analysis such as basic data presentation, t-test, ANOVA, DOE, and GR&R
  • Identify process risks and implement mitigations through standard methods such as pFMEA.
  • Effectively communicates complex information and presents findings to diverse technical and non-technical audiences
 
What makes you successful:
  • Demonstrate hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes and it’s interaction with the product design
  • Previous experience with working in a manufacturing or mechanical lab environment
  • Documentation skills on technical information such as manufacturing procedures, equipment specifications, CAD drawing and experimentation results.
  • Having a proactive, team-oriented mindset to willingly take on diverse tasks to ensure project success
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
 
Educational Qualification:
  • BS in Mechanical or Bioengineering
 
Must Have:
  • Process Development / DOE
  • CAD/Solidworks for fixture development
  • Hands-on experience with diverse set of equipment
 
Nice to Have:
  • GR&R
  • Statistical knowledge in JMP
