Job Description

Title: Laboratory Assistant
Duration: 2 Months
Location: 
 Bentonville, AR 72712

Qualifications:
  • The candidate should have a good understanding of fabrics and fabrications.
  • They will evaluate and complete testing for soft home items such as blankets, comforters, towels, etc.
  • They will also complete any missing testing and evaluate packaging components for label claims. 

Responsibilities:
  • The laboratory assistant works with our senior staff to process lab samples, perform tests, and record and analyze results.
  • Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests. 
  • Performs tests using general laboratory equipment. 
  • Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area. 
  • Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software. 
  • As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets. 
  • Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. 
  • Records and explains test results. Reads and interprets results of tests. 
  • Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results. 
  • Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor. 
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions. 
  • As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case. 
  • Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation. 
  • Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed. 
  • Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff. 
  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets. 
  • Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems. 
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. 
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. 
  • Performs other duties as directed. 
Education:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific field and a good understanding of laboratory information systems and laboratory equipment.
