Job Description
Title: Test Engineer II
Location: Onsite – San Diego, CA
Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend and convert to FTE)
Role Overview
Client is seeking a Test Engineer II to support test method development, validation, and process optimization in a manufacturing environment. This role will focus on ensuring measurement reliability, validating test methods, and collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Role Overview
Client is seeking a Test Engineer II to support test method development, validation, and process optimization in a manufacturing environment. This role will focus on ensuring measurement reliability, validating test methods, and collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve test methods using Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) techniques
- Lead Test Method Validation (TMV) activities, including protocol development, execution, and reporting
- Design, create, and release test fixtures and equipment (CAD, drawings, prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing implementation)
- Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to characterize and optimize test and process methods
- Analyze data using statistical tools such as JMP or Minitab to evaluate performance and drive improvements
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to meet product and business requirements
- Author and maintain validation documentation, including protocols, reports, and risk assessments
Required Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Test Method Validation (TMV) and/or Gauge R&R experience
- Experience with vision-based equipment for dimensional inspection
- Experience in the medical device industry
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Mechanical tensile or compression testing (e.g., Instron)
- Statistical data analysis using JMP or Minitab
- Process development experience, including DOE
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bioengineering
- PhD candidates will not be considered
