Job Title: Design Engineer V (Core Engineering)
Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)

The client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Engineer V to support core engineering initiatives focused on rapid prototyping, new product ideation, and design execution. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, enjoys hands-on development, and can translate early-stage concepts into functional prototypes and demos in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, and leadership teams to ideate, path-find, and build design-driven solutions. This position emphasizes creativity, technical depth, rapid execution, and the ability to clearly communicate product vision and design rationale.

Day to Day:

• Research, design, and develop concepts for new products, systems, and features

• Rapidly prototype and iterate on new design and software concepts

• Create engineering models, drawings, and design documentation using CAD and related tools

• Develop and test prototypes, assessing risks, limitations, and improvement opportunities

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ideate, path-find, and execute design solutions

• Support manufacturing or implementation processes for approved designs

• Demonstrate prototypes and project demos to cross-functional teams and leadership

• Communicate design intent, trade-offs, and product strategy clearly and effectively

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field

• Strong hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and new design development

• Experience engineering and testing new product or software concepts

• Proficiency with CAD tools and design software

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics

• Coding experience in mobile and/or web-based applications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills

• Clear understanding of product strategy, particularly within AI-driven product environments

• Experience working on early-stage or exploratory product initiatives

• Demonstrated ability to translate abstract ideas into working demos or prototypes
