The Workplace Participant Marketing team focuses on improving financial outcomes by making investing accessible and understandable for all participants—regardless of experience, age, interest, or income. We help participants (employees of corporate clients) understand their equity and retirement benefits and how these benefits support both short-term and long-term life goals. Our goal is to help participants use their benefits as a foundation for financial wellness.
The Sr. Manager, Workplace Participant Marketing is a 9-month contractor, individual contributor role. This position partners cross-functionally to deliver communications and education that help participants maximize their employer-sponsored retirement plans. Collaboration includes Workplace Participant Marketing, Product Owners, Technology, Production, Compliance, and other business partners.

About the Role
The Sr. Manager, Contractor – Workplace Participant Marketing is responsible for the strategic planning, oversight, and execution of regulatory initiatives impacting participant communications, education, and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop overall approach, processes, and project plans to manage impacts across multiple provision workstreams, including plan elections, staggered enactment years, and delivery channels
  • Serve as marketing liaison in core and sub-team meetings, providing frequent updates to marketing and leadership teams
  • Assess participant experiences and communications to identify impacts and opportunities related to regulatory changes
  • Partner closely with business, legal, compliance, digital, B2C and B2B marketing, service communications, and production teams to implement communication plans by required regulatory deadlines
  • Lead discovery, messaging strategy, and rollout for new retirement plan features
  • Oversee programming communications within technology platforms as needed
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and scalability
  • Act as the primary marketing subject matter expert for SECURE Act and other regulatory initiatives

Must Haves
  • 6+ years of integrated B2C marketing communications experience
  • Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry, specifically retirement plan services and/or workplace benefits
  • Ability to move seamlessly from strategy development to execution management
  • Big-picture, innovative problem solver who defines and supports a compelling future vision
  • Strong curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement

Additional Requirements
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel; Salesforce Marketing Cloud familiarity is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

WFS Participant Marketing Manager – Regulatory Development & Execution
Regulatory Provision Execution
  • Execute provisions across the marketing team, managing inventory, updates, and data points
  • Daily marketing communications updates (e.g., RMD)
  • Scope each provision and understand participant experience
  • Assess impacts, including sponsor elections/options and variability or suppressions
  • Identify needs for new data points or process changes
  • Inventory and assess impacts to existing communications
  • Partner with compliance and legal on approved language
  • Oversee creative updates, compliance review, and distribution through appropriate channels
  • Track and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Ensure completion of updates for each provision
New Plan Feature Communications
  • Scope opportunities and assess participant experience alignment
  • Assess impacts to other initiatives and sponsor election options
  • Identify programming or data needs
  • Determine scope of communications (new service vs. copy block)
  • Follow standard marketing development, compliance, and rollout processes
Logic / Data Requirements (e.g., LTPT, Roth Match)
  • Scope project and participant experience
  • Lead data requests
  • Act as liaison with data, platform teams, and sub-team leads
Infrastructure Build
  • Manage updates to SFMC and SCMP as required
