Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Duration: Full-time

Job description

Primary Responsibilities: ·

  • Responsible for electrical expertise in single/multiple areas of the plant. ·
  • Lead continuous improvement and corrective action activities & projects. ·
  • Provide technical support to internal customers. ·
  • Manage major projects such as New Machine installation, upgrades, etc.
  • The Projects range from $50K to $1M. ·
  • Analyze project requirements, identify and address design parameters, engineering challenges and to ensure solutions are implemented accurately, timely and within budget. ·
  • Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects, meeting quality standards and within budget. ·
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements, for all activities, are observed and implemented.

 

Engineering: ·

  • Create and finalize designs to meet project scope of work and safety requirements, Bill of Materials and spare part requirements. ·
  • Work closely with Automation Vendors and Manage External Contractors on Installations. ·
  • Engineering drawing development. (Autodesk products) · Project/Equipment Risk Assessment & Safety Countermeasure Implementation. ·
  • Hardware design, PLC and HMI programming, VFDs, Servos, Control System Networking & Systems integration. ·
  • Specification and procurement of electrical hardware and services. ·
  • Machine FAT, IO check-out, Machine start-up and commissioning.
Must-haves
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude
  • Ability to manage capital and expense budgets to meet plant objectives

Required Skills
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLC's, remote IO, HMI's, and associated Rockwell software
  • Troubleshooting and programming PLC's
  • Experience with industrial ethernet communication and machine network layout
  • Knowledge of equipment safety, including hardware design, component selection, and arc flash requirements per NFPA 70E

Preferred or Nice-to-have Skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance technicians
  • Ability to design, develop, and oversee electrical control systems

Years of Experience: 5+ years and experience with Allen Bradley PLC's and industrial automation is required.
Industry Experience: Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred, with knowledge of production and maintenance processes.
Education Requirements: A degree in a relevant field such as electrical engineering or a related technical field.
