Job Title: Data Engineer I
Duration:8 months
Location: Pittsburgh, PA , 15213 (Hybrid)
 
Day to Day:

• Variety of tasks- sitting with researchers during planning sessions and data requirements.
• This person would document protocol.
• Next Phase will be working with research teams to identify data systems and collect data in systems.
• Final phase- data wrap up and data cleaning and upload. Previous experience working through data engineering pipelines.
• Someone willing to drive results.

Job Description:
We are seeking a someone to fill a contractor role (initially running through September 2026) to assist us in conducting studies to gather data for training our models and evaluating them in real-time.
 
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the research team to comprehend the research objectives and the questions we aim to address.
• Recruit participants for the studies and obtain their consent.
• Set up the hardware and data collection software developed by the team to conduct the studies.
• Collect data in various environments
• Inspect the quality of the data and upload it to servers.
• Support data labeling needs.
• Coordinate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the studies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-3 Years of experience

We primarily require an individual who is:

• Dedicated to delivering results on time.
• Flexible in support of the iterative nature of our investigations.
• Technically proficient in conducting studies including running software scripts and handling hardware prototypes.
• An effective communicator who can interact with the team and participants in a professional and respectful manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience writing scripts to automate small tasks through bash or Python (Nice to Have)
• Experience with command line/terminal operations on MacOS

Interview Process: Will consider prior research experience (RA) Screening Process- 2 to 3 rounds with AM, researcher, and person in similar role. Will be mostly behavioral to identify communication.
