Job Description

Title: Payment Analyst
Duration: 6 Months
Working hours: Standard 8:30 AM – 5 PM
Work location: Toronto, ON (2 to 3 days on site)
 
Team’s summary within the Bank:
This team plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence and driving key projects and programs across Bank’s Global Asset Management.
Within this group, the Accounts Payable (AP) team is responsible for several important functions, including:
  • Invoice Processing: Ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
  • Expense Management: Monitoring and reconciling expenses to maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor Relations: Coordinating with vendors to resolve payment inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
  • Financial Controls: Supporting audit and reporting processes to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial transactions.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
  • Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Must Have:
  • College Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years financial and/or accounting experience required.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Very Important:
  • Experience in accounts payable / financial concepts, practices and workflow.
  • Knowledge of the financial / accounts payable business and corporate processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of sales tax systems / legislations for the appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related accounting software (COUPA).
  • Excel is used (intermediate – V lookup, pivot tables mandatory) Macro a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Nice To Have:
  • Previous Banking Industry experience.
  • Professional Accounting certification.
