Location: Smyrna GA or New York NY (Hybrid 3 days in office)

Analytics Engineer - Data Services
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Analytics Engineer to join our Data Services team, This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data models and analytics infrastructure that empowers stakeholders across the organization to make data-driven decisions. The Analytics Engineer will bridge the gap between data engineering and analytics, transforming raw data into clean, accessible, and actionable datasets that support reporting, analysis, machine learning, and strategic initiatives.
The right candidate has experience building scalable data transformations in a modern data stack environment, preferably within retail, hospitality, or QSR. They have developed and maintained data models using tools like dbt, SQL, and cloud data warehouses, with a strong focus on data quality and documentation. They collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Data Science, Consumer Insights, Finance, Operations, and Marketing to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive business impact.
They have strong technical leadership skills and experience managing delivery with offshore and vendor teams. They have a passion for data quality, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and maintain data models and transformations using modern analytics engineering tools (dbt, SQL, Python) to support business reporting, analysis, and machine learning initiatives across multiple functions
· Act as technical lead for data solution delivery, managing and coordinating work with offshore development teams and vendor partners to ensure high-quality execution and timely delivery
· Build and optimize dimensional data models that enable self-service analytics and support ML/AI use cases while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance
· Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure reliable data pipelines and with Data Science and Consumer Insights teams to understand analytical and modeling requirements, translating them into scalable data solutions
· Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to extended team members including offshore resources and vendor partners
· Balance hands-on development work with technical leadership responsibilities, coding solutions directly while also leveraging extended teams for scaled delivery
· Implement and maintain data quality tests, monitoring, and documentation to ensure trustworthy data products
· Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other business units to understand their data needs and deliver analytics-ready datasets
· Design and structure data models optimized for both traditional reporting and advanced analytics including machine learning feature engineering and AI model training
· Develop and maintain clear documentation of data models, business logic, and data lineage to promote transparency and knowledge sharing
· Support the optimization of query performance and data warehouse efficiency to reduce costs and improve user experience
Minimum Qualifications:
· Proven experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or similar role with focus on transforming raw data into analytics-ready datasets
· Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with modern data transformation tools (dbt strongly preferred)
· Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar)
· Understanding of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling, data normalization, and star/snowflake schemas
· Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery and coordinate with offshore or vendor development teams
· Familiarity with version control (Git) and software engineering best practices
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field
· 5-7 years work experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, or related field
· 2-3 years experience in a technical leadership or lead role
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in retail, hospitality, QSR, or restaurant operations environments
· Knowledge of Python for data transformation and automation
· Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)
· Previous experience managing or leading offshore development teams or vendor partnerships
· Understanding of machine learning workflows and feature engineering requirements
· Experience structuring data for ML model training, validation, and deployment
· Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
· Understanding of marketing analytics, customer segmentation, or operational metrics
· Experience implementing data quality frameworks and testing strategies
· Exposure to event tracking and product analytics
· Experience collaborating with Data Science teams on analytical and ML projects
· Strong project management and technical leadership skills in distributed team environments

- Pure data engineering experience acceptable but should include business understanding; avoid candidates too pipeline-focused and missing business context.
- Must listen to the business and proactively suggest solutions.
- Strong/Expert SQL experience — building datasets, modeling, transformations, performance tuning.
- Strong business and technical acumen
- Analytics Platforms: Snowflake ideal, BigQuery, etc; otherwise fairly open.
