Job Title: Project Manager III
Location: Remote
Duration: 1 year

 
Note: Remote Position with 25% travel required to Foster City, CA

Position Overview
This is a remote Project Manager role requiring periodic travel to Foster City, CA. The Project Manager III will lead and support cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced corporate environment, driving projects from concept through execution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong operational discipline, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage complex, multi-functional projects.
Pharmaceutical or commercial training experience is preferred but not required. Experience supporting new hire onboarding particularly for field sales representatives is highly preferred.
 
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management
  • Support the lead training or project manager by managing assigned components of initiatives, including planning, execution, follow-up, and delivery to ensure timelines, quality, and objectives are met.
  • Manage end-to-end project activities, including scope definition, timelines, milestones, risk management, and resource coordination.
  • Maintain project documentation such as project plans, dashboards, status reports, and risk/issue logs.
  • Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate meetings, track action items, and drive resolution of open issues.
Training & Commercial Support
  • Lead and collaborate on the development and execution of knowledge- and skill-based training programs, with a focus on therapeutic disease states, product knowledge, and commercial readiness.
  • Support and execute training initiatives for new hire programs (e.g., Accelerate), account management skills, selling skills, product launches, promotional campaigns, and ongoing learning sustainment programs.
  • Ensure organizational readiness for training deployment by identifying stakeholders, assessing needs, and aligning resources.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Marketing, Commercial (Field Sales, National Accounts, Regional Trainers), Commercial Operations, Global Learning & Development, Medical Information, Legal, Regulatory, and Business Conduct to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Medical teams to ensure training materials are accurate, current, effective, and compliant with regulatory guidelines.
  • Build consensus, influence without authority, and gain alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
Vendor & Resource Management
  • Partner with external vendors to design curricula and instructional materials using adult learning principles.
  • Manage vendors from selection through final deliverables, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
  • Manage budgets related to training development, resources, and sales meetings or POA activities.
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify opportunities to improve organizational capabilities.
  • Analyze existing technologies and tools used in instructional design and training delivery.
  • Monitor alignment with the Commercial organization’s strategic training plan while balancing short- and long-term business goals.
 
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Teams, and PowerPoint, particularly for instructional and presentation content.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication (verbal, written, and visual), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from initiation through delivery (live or virtual).
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working with global stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
 
Minimum Qualifications
One of the following is required:
  • High School Diploma with 12 years of relevant experience
  • Associate’s Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience
  • Ph.D. (experience commensurate with role expectations)
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of commercial pharmaceutical or biotech experience
  • 3+ years of successful field sales experience
  • 1+ year of prior commercial training experience
  • Experience supporting product launches or working in HIV therapeutic areas
  • Sales, marketing, or training experience within a competitive biotech/pharma environment
  • PMP certification is a plus
