Job Description:
- Responsible for providing timely and accurate consolidated financial information for internal and external reporting, following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Development and maintenance of adequate internal control policies and procedures.
- Provide extensive business and analytical/financial support to line management.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual operating reports/analysis for management.
- Lead the preparation of the annual operating budget.
- Facilitate achieving targeted business performance by reviewing, with the Region VP and location management, the financial and operational performance of the plants/branches monthly.
- Providing technical accounting support to the Plant Manager/General Manager/Region VP.
- Coordinate with corporate financial staff the quarterly and annual SEC filings by clarifying/confirming key statistical data (Quarterly Controllers File).
- Conduct annual internal control compliance visits at each operation.
- Prepare, examine, and/or analyze accounting records, general ledger, monthly financial statements, journal entries, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Supervise any staff supporting these activities.
- Serve as a conduit for communication with branches/plants/divisions and other corporate departments.
- Lead or participate in due diligence efforts to acquire business.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
- Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards.
- Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a publicly held manufacturing or distribution environment desired.
- CPA professional certification or equivalent.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole statistical inference, and forecasting.
- Ability to apply and analyze concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.
- Ability to create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
- Frequently communicates complex information across departments and interacts with management.
- Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations.
- Can motivate and persuade others.
- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation.
- Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents, and practices.

- Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Up to 50% of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
