Job Description

Location: Camuy, PR

Summary:
The Accounting clerk will perform routine clerical accounting duties within a fast-paced finance department while adhering to established standards. It is a supporting role that assists management with various financial and administrative duties. They will update and maintain records, reconcile bank statements, and manage the accounting databases. Office tasks will involve reporting, bookkeeping, research, as well as the resolution of discrepancies related to any of the tasks he or she performs. The accounting clerk will also execute accurate reporting, filing, and database management in multiple systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes financial transactions including journal entries, invoices, and others.
  • Verify and post details about business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers and databases.
  • Match, batch, code and record vendor invoices.
  • Request vendor account statements and reconcile with general ledger.
  • Vendor information validation by phone or email as required.
  • Preparation of weekly payment batches.
  • Process departmental purchase orders, invoices, reimbursements, and travel expenses as required.
  • Apply vendors payments in an accounting system.
  • Resolve vendor inquiries and complaints.
  • Administers and manages numerous payable funds.
  • Preparation of AP reports, as required for meetings.
  • Assists with the preparation of various financial information such as to allow for timely, accurate and meaningful decision support.
  • Support for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • The cycle counts for inventory on a weekly basis and report findings to each department management.
  • Prepare spreadsheets as requested.
  • Manage and control all intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable balances providing accurate information and resolution of out of balances in a timely manner.
  • Manage the requests of external and internal auditors for compliance with SNCTS Policies and procedures.
  • Performs other assignments, duties, or functions assigned.
  • Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures, and instructions of the company quality systems.
  • Attend meetings and participate in training related to your area.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant business analytics experience.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines requirements such as monthly closing dates end.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in computer software programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
