Job Description

Position Title: Test Engineer 
Location: Tucson, AZ
Assignment Duration: 18 months
Work Schedule: [Specify work hours, e.g., Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm]
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:
As a Test Engineer, you will support a new product development program currently in the Feasibility phase, focusing on Client Tissue Diagnostics Instruments. This hands-on role will involve extensive work in the lab, performing tests using various assays and tissue samples. The goal is to collect data and contribute to the creation of design inputs for the new system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-On Testing & Validation:

    • Conduct lab-based tests and evaluations on Client Tissue Diagnostics Instruments.

    • Write and execute lab and engineering testing protocols.

    • Perform test method validation to ensure accurate and reliable results.

    • Analyze data, evaluate results, and contribute to process or document improvements.

  • Product Development & Design Inputs:

    • Support the Feasibility phase of new product development.

    • Assist in creating design inputs for new systems based on testing outcomes.

    • Plan and execute assigned projects, applying strong technical and theoretical understanding.

  • Collaboration & Innovation:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and project execution.

    • Demonstrate creative problem-solving and process optimization during product development.

    • Provide technical presentations to stakeholders, ensuring clarity in project updates and findings.

  • Project Management & Process Improvement:

    • Lead or contribute to project planning and process updates throughout the development lifecycle.

    • Ensure quality control in the work product, with a focus on high standards of engineering and testing.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).

    • 2-5 years of experience in systems characterization, test method validation, and design of experiments.

    • Experience in data analysis, forming conclusions, and providing improvement recommendations.

  • Desired Skills:

    • Hands-on experience with diagnostic instruments or medical devices.

    • Strong technical presentation skills and experience working in early-stage product development.

    • Proactive, self-starting attitude with a strong capacity for innovation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a lab environment, standing for extended periods.
